Bryan Chong

Bryan had his first horn lessons with Gao Jian at the age of 14 after joining the Singapore National Youth Orchestra. In 2011, he began studying horn at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and in the same year he received 2nd prize in the NAFA concerto competition.

In 2016 he furthered his studies with Jamie Hersch at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music and graduated with honours in 2020. During his time as a student, Bryan has performed in masterclasses and received artistic advice from such world-class musicians as Stefan Dohr, Sarah Willis, Jan Harshagen, Christian-Friedrich Dallmann, Jean-Pierre Dassonville and Olivier Darbellay.

As an active orchestral musician, Bryan gains regular performing experience with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, Sun Symphony Orchestra, Resound Chamber Orchestra, Metropolitan Festival Orchestra, Singapore Lyric Opera and the Orchestra of the Music Makers. In 2016, he was a substitute horn player with Les Misérables International for their Singapore tour. During his free time, Bryan enjoys playing video games and running.
