Concertgoers were treated to a symphonic spectacular in SSO Gala: Dvořák and Tchaikovsky – Hans Graf and Leonidas Kavakos on 13 and 14 October, held at the Victoria Concert Hall – home of the SSO.
TransTechnology commemorates its 35th anniversary this year and we were delighted to partner the local tech company in its milestone celebration. We would like to express our deepest gratitude for their support.
Headlining the SSO Gala concert was Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto, where violin virtuoso Leonidas Kavakos dexterously performed the famous piece in all its glory. His showmanship caught the attention of The Straits Times, noting the way he “drew out clarity and lyricism that one rarely hears in (the concerto’s) performance”
Under the charge of Music Director Hans Graf, the SSO also paid homage to Czech composer Dvořák in movements from Legends and Symphony No. 6. In the latter's performance, the harmonious melody from the wind and horn instruments shone, earning rapturous cheers and applause from enthusiastic concertgoers.
Once again, we extend our appreciation to TransTechnology for their support towards the national orchestra and send them our best wishes on many milestones ahead!
