MAHLER 7 – MUSIC OF THE NIGHT
Under the baton of music director Lan Shui, the Singapore Symphony Orchestra will perform Mahler’s Symphony Seventh Symphony at the Esplanade Concert Hall on January 6. Music of shadows and luminance, calm and fanfare, Mahler’s Seventh Symphony has divided opinion with its vivid array of contrasting instrumental range, orchestral colour and moods. Whatever your perception of night, Mahler leads the listener through moonlit dreamscapes and grotesque nightmares, culminating in a finale of daylight.
