MARTHA ARGERICH RETURNS – LIVE IN SINGAPORE
Last June, against all odds and expectations, the greatest living legend of the piano, Martha Argerich, made her debut performance in Singapore. Her unforgettable performances still sets the imagination on fire.
Despite her 78 years, Martha Argerich continues to astound audiences with her extraordinary capabilities at the piano. Hers is a gift that defies comprehension, and must be seen to be believed. The value of the chance to watch her ‘live’ today, any day, cannot be underestimated.
Come June 2019, the Singapore Symphony Group is privileged to present, once again, the legend herself in three performances. Martha Argerich is joined by her Argentine compatriot, pianist and conductor Dario Alejandro Ntaca, who accompanied her last year.
On 6 and 7 June 2019, Martha Argerich will perform with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra conducted by Dario Ntaca. She will star as piano soloist in a different piano concerto on each night.
In addition, each night will feature the young and rising Taiwanese violinist Tseng Yu-Chien. Also known as Benny Tseng, he was the 2015 International Tchaikovsky Violin Competition 2nd Prize Winner, and First Prize Winner at the inaugural Singapore International Violin Competition, in the same year.
On 9 June 2019, they will be joined by musicians of the SSO in a programme of chamber and solo piano music.
Please note that programmes are subject to change at the artistes’ discretion.
