Singapore, 27 September 2024 — The Singapore Symphony Group is pleased to welcome seven new members to its Board of Directors. Bringing years of expertise and leadership from their respective fields, the newly minted board members will help the Group, which governs the Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO) and its affiliated performing groups, in its lifelong journey of nurturing talents, enriching diverse communities, and spreading our love for music.

The seven Directors joining the Board will also assume roles in its Board committees, including the new Community and Youth Engagement Committee. They are:

  • Ms Andress Goh, Former Managing Director, Global Co-Head and Head of Singapore Office, Allianz Capital Partners GmbH (Singapore Branch)
  • Ms Clara Lim-Tan, Director, Arts Education Branch, Ministry of Education
  • Mr Jesher Loi, Director, Branding and Market Development, Ya Kun International
  • Mr Jovi Seet, Partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers Advisory Services Pte. Ltd
  • Ms Farhana Sharmeen, Co-Deputy Asia Managing Partner, Latham & Watkins LLP
  • Ms Doris Sohmen-Pao, Chief Executive Officer, Human Capital Leadership Institute
  • Prof Peter Tornquist, Dean, Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music/National University of Singapore

“We are excited to start the next chapter of the Group with our newest members,” said Mr Goh Yew Lin, Chair, Singapore Symphony Group. “Their contributions will be instrumental in advancing our mission of attaining musical excellence and enriching lives through memorable musical experiences.”

“I would like to also thank the Board Members who have recently stepped down – former Deputy Chair Ms Yong Ying-I, along with Prof Arnoud De Meyer, Ms Liew Wei Li, Mr Sanjiv Misra, Mr Warren Fernandez, Ms Yasmin Zahid, and Mr Yee Chen Fah. Their steadfast support towards the Group is evident through the changing seasons, from navigating the pandemic years to celebrating SSO’s 45th anniversary. We are indebted to these passionate individuals for their commitment and counsel that helped the organisation stay its course.”
