Synopsis

Charismatic, funny and undeniably skilled - Ray Chen, the ever-popular Taiwanese-Australian violinist has dazzled the violin world. SSO Principal Guest Conductor Andrew Litton conducts the SSO and SNYO side-by-side in this all-Russian programme: opening with the brazenly expressive overture to Prince Igor, followed by the wry musings of Prokofiev's Violin Concerto No. 2 and the heart-on-the-sleeve passion of Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony.
