ASSISTANT MANAGER, DEVELOPMENT (CAMPAIGNS)
Reports to: Senior Manager, Development
Supervises: Nil
The Assistant Manager, Development (Campaigns) works closely with the fundraising team to implement comprehensive, public-facing fundraising campaigns for the Singapore Symphony Group (SSG). This includes project management of the year-end mass appeal, the annual fundraising dinner’s appeal, and other evolving campaigns to support SSG’s development strategies.
The Assistant Manager, Development (Campaigns) plays a key role in driving the success of mass fundraising efforts and has opportunities to use creativity in shaping SSG’s fundraising initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Campaign Specific
- Receive key campaign messaging from Managers.
- Collaborate with the relevant Manager overseeing the campaign to project manage (plan, develop, execute, report, and analyze) mass fundraising campaigns, including the Year-End Appeal, Symphony Ball Appeal, and other assigned fundraising campaigns to meet campaign financial goals. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Develop and implement timeline and comprehensive deliverables of campaigns.
- Oversee and manage traditional mailing for the relevant campaigns.
- Oversee and manage online dissemination of campaign messages.
- Work with relevant departments to leverage various channels to expand the reach of campaigns to various targeted audiences, including social media, concert spaces, and other platforms. Adapt key campaign messaging to various platforms for maximum impact.
- Report campaign progress along the way, and work with Managers to adjust the campaign strategy if needed.
- Conduct post-campaign analysis on the effectiveness of campaigns in the format of report writing, to inform future strategies.
- Ensure campaign finance compliance, adhering to the 30:70 fundraising rule, and maintaining accurate records of donations, expenditures, and financial transactions.
Campaign Assets Management
- Oversee and manage updates to the relevant fundraising webpages, to maximize the effectiveness of online fundraising methods, including but not limited to the SSO’s website, SSO’s giving.sg site, Benevity and other platforms.
- Oversee and manage the segmentation of donors according to campaign types to ensure targeted messaging.
Research
- Perform basic donor research on prospective and new donors to create donor dossiers.
- Research best practices for mass fundraising campaigns and work with the department to adapt them according to trends and perceptions to suit the company’s needs.
- Support grant research and proposal development.
Others
- Handle any other matters essential to maintaining sponsors, donors and potential donors’ satisfaction with the company’s professionalism.
- Assist with other development, promotional, or publicity events for the company.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma or degree holder.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in non-profit fundraising campaigns, communications, or related fields, with a proven track record in project management. Experience in the arts is an advantage.
- Strong communication (written & spoken) and proficiency in MS Office; fluency in other widely used languages is an advantage.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Must be meticulous and organised with a strong sense of pride in the quality of their work
- Able to work independently while also being a collaborative team player.
- Passion for symphonic music and/or the performing arts.
- Able to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends when needed.
